The shoreline of Lombok is full of beautiful beaches and islands. You can start your escape at the Mandalika Region in the south where you will come across white-sand beaches such as Kuta, Tanjung Aan, Seger, Selong Belanak, Mawun, etc. A three-hour drive from Mataram, you’ll get to Pink Beach whose sand is pinkish instead of white.
There is no better spot to watch the sunset than Senggigi beach on the west coast of the island. While waiting for the magical sunset, you can spread your picnic blanket and eat street food such as grilled corn or banana.
Floating on the northwestern shoal of Lombok are the Three Gilis. It is a group of three motor-vehicle free islets from which you can see sublime sunset and sunrise. Gili Trawangan is the host of great beach parties while the others, Gili Meno and Gili Air, are famous as the honeymoon islands.
The underwater world of Three Gilis is home to colorful coral-reef and fish. It is easy to spot white-fin sharks and turtles while scuba-diving the underwater world of the Three Gilis. If you were not into scuba diving yet you wanted to know what was going on beneath the ocean, you were free to go snorkeling.
